When I ask Seniors what they have valued most about their Garrison Forest experience, the answer is often, "The School allowed me to be myself." Inspired by our School motto, Esse Quam Videri--To Be Rather Than To Seem, our students are encouraged and expected to be authentic in every moment and with every action.
As Head of Garrison Forest School since 1994, I firmly believe that girls' schools provide the most powerful environment for developing confidence and character in girls. Since our founding in 1910, we have been a school that is academically rigorous and challenging within an atmosphere of warmth and respect. Guided by a diverse group of role models, our students develop the unaffected self-assuredness and sense of accountability needed to embrace responsibility for themselves and each other.
Our girls have exceptional opportunities to lead in class, in sports, in the arts, and in clubs and service organizations. We seek students who want to be an active part of our spirited community--girls who want to be learners and leaders across the whole range of school life. We welcome students who will go beyond expectations and encourage others to do the same. We hope you enjoy learning more about Garrison Forest School, and if our spirit rings true with you, we look forward to learning more about you.
Sincerely,
G. Peter O'Neill, Jr.
