ACT

The ACT is rising in popularity and is a single test that is designed to measures both aptitude and achievement in four sections: English, Reading, Math, and Scientific Reasoning on a 36-point scale. There is also an additional Writing option that is required for admission to many colleges. Admission offices will accept ACT scores for admission just like SAT scores.

Some pointers about registering for and taking the ACT:

  • It is the student’s responsibility to register for the ACT.
  • Register online with ACT here
  • If you take the ACT, take it WITH the optional writing section.
  • Some colleges waive Subject Test requirements for students submitting ACT results; others will still require them as part of the admission process. Check with the individual college for their admission testing requirements.
