Everything You Need to Know
Your Visit to Campus
A visit to the campus for a tour and interview often precedes the formal application. Girls are encouraged to spend the day attending classes with a current student so that they can get to know GFS better. We invite parents to join the tour and then meet with a member of the Admission Team for their conference.
Please join us for one of our Prospective Parent Visiting Programs to experience GFS first-hand. Please note that an on-campus interview is a required part of the application process.
Taking the ISEE
The application review process includes both aptitude and achievement measures. As part of this, we ask you to please take the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE) and have the scores forwarded to Garrison Forest. ISEE testing will be administered at several Baltimore independent schools on Saturdays and some Sundays beginning in October. While we prefer you to take the test at Garrison Forest on Saturday, November 17, 2012 or Saturday, December 8, 2012, you may test at another school and list GFS as a score recipient. Families are encouraged to register online at http://www.iseetest.org/. Students who speak English as a second language will be required to take the SSAT and TOEFL tests.
Applying for Financial Aid
Families requesting financial aid consideration must submit a Grant and Aid Application to FACTS no later than January 4, 2013. A copy of this document must also be sent to Garrison Forest at the same time. Please know that the Financial Aid Committee also requires a copy of the complete tax record for the current year no later than February 15, 2013. For more information, please see Financing a Garrison Forest Education.
Notifying Candidates
On February 15, 2013, the Admission Committee mails letters of decision to all students who completed their applications by the December 14, 2012 deadline. Applications submitted after the December deadline will be considered on a rolling basis, as space allows.
