The 2012 Spring fling, the Lower Division’s annual family carnival, made quite a splash this year.
The faculty dunking booth added more fun to the already popular spring fair. (Thanks, Mr. Song, Ms. Cline, Ms. Gottlieb, Ms. Hall, Mrs. Nelson, and Mrs. Welling—you were great sports!) GFS families turned out in full force to enjoy the array of games, food, and fun in and out of Livingston. Alumnae celebrating Reunion Weekend attended as well.

The much-anticipated raffles of an iPad 3, a MacBook Pro, jewelry, beautifully decorated class planters, overflowing class baskets, and other prizes drew a big crowd and raised over $10,000 for Lower Division's field trip, assemblies, and special events budgets. Grizzly Gear was on hand, as were dozens of parent volunteers who organized the event, secured prizes, raffles, and food donations, supervised games, and set and cleaned up. The winning t-shirt design was created by Lila B., 5th Grade.
"It was an awesome event where the GFS community came together and really shone," says Steve Song, Head of the Lower School and the first one in the dunking booth. "So many people pooled their resources, time, and talent to make it a spectacular day. And the water was really cold."
