IN CASE OF RAIN: The Mid-Autumn Festival will continue in the event of rain. The Lantern Parade will be held in the aisles of Garland Theater, rather than outdoors, with all entertainment continuing as planned in the Theater.
Schedule:
6:30 PM, Lantern Parade line up in front of Moncrieffe (the Preschool building just off the Reisterstown Road entrance).
PARKING: PLEASE FOLLOW ALL PARKING SIGNS FOR THE MIDDLE SCHOOL PARKING LOTS AND WALK TO LIVINGSTON. (There will be Security to guide you.)

At sunset, the Yong Han Lion Dancers of Johns Hopkins University and the Han Pan Korean American Drum Troupe will lead participants with lanterns to Garland Theater

The GFS Mid-Autumn Festival sponsored through a generous grant from Hanban.
Lantern Prizes: Prizes will be awarded for the best handmade lantern for three age categories: Most Creative Lantern in Upper, Middle and Lower Division (Preschool-5th) age divisions. At workshops prior to September 29, Garrison Forest students will make lanterns of various designs and materials. GFS families will be given an opportunity to purchase these lanterns prior to the Mid-Autumn Festival, with proceeds to be donated to UNICEF to help children in need. For safety purposes, all GFS lanterns will use LED-lights. Participants may also come with purchased lanterns, flashlights, camping lanterns, etc.
