Preschool Learns About Japan

In the Five Day Three's classroom, we have been busy learning about the lifestyle and culture of Japan. We are fortunate to be penpals with Otsuma Nakano Junior/Senior High School in Japan, which gives our students direct interaction with other students who live abroad. Their 7th Grade girls sent us bilingual holiday cards and we will be sending back Valentines Day cards.

We read about Japan every week and to date, we have colored the Japanese flag, learned about Hanakotoba (the language of flowers) and made an Azalea flower, which represents patience. We also made a shape ninja and sent home a fun Origami project for students to complete with their parents.
