Parent Resources for Technology Use

Check out the scoop-it created by Renee Hawkins, Director of Instructional Techonolgy. She's gathered great links on all things digital and how parents can help children navigate the online world.

Lower School Technology Coordinator Chris Shriver has created a Google site for GFS parents to access the many resoureces used through the Lower School's Digital Discoveries program.

“VOICES FROM THE FOREST” is the Garrison Forest parenting blog. More and more parents look to the internet for parenting information and advice. We hope this blog will become a primary source for you - and for others outside the immediate GFS community. The blog includes voices from our community and resources relevant to each topic. Visit gfs.org/voicesfromtheforest.

Preschool Parenting Series

Each month, the Preschool offers free parenting seminars to parents on topics specific to the intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development of young children. Head of Preschool Zibby Andrews and her faculty of teachers and early childhood educators lead the sessions. While the series' focus is on preschool-aged children, several are appropriate for children through age 8.

GFS parents are encouraged to bring friends and neighbors to these sessions.

Join us for the Series!

Offerings by GFS Faculty

Garrison Forest faculty periodically offer classes and/or seminars open to the GFS community. The 2012-13 faculty-offered programs are listed below. In addition to these programs, several outside groups offer fitness, dance, and/or athletic programs open to adults and students. For a full list of offerings, click here.
