2015 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure!
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2015
Hunt Valley, Md.
All GFS students, parents, alumnae, faculty, staff and friends are invited to race, walk or “sleep in” for a cure for breast cancer in the 2015 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Hunt Valley.
Every dollar and GFS community member make a real difference in finding a cure for breast cancer. Most of the funds raised remain in Maryland for treatment and research.
This is Garrison Forest’s 18th year as a Race for the Cure team. Organized by the Parent Association, Team GFS is the only school-wide community service event at Garrison Forest.
Pink & Denim Day, Monday, October 19: Every GFS student and faculty and staff member dresses in pink, denim (no yoga or sweatpants) or a Race for the Cure T-shirt to show our GFS spirit for the cause! Details here.
"Change for a Cure" change drive begins at the end of September. Each division and the Searle Athletic Center lobby will have buckets marked "Light Blue" and "Dark Blue" for any member of the GFS community to put in spare change. Last year's efforts raised well over $1,000!
Pink Ribbon Tree: Throughout October, share your message of hope or remembrance on a pink ribbon, located in the SAC lobby, which will be hung by our volunteers during Race week on the trees by the GFS pond.
#gfs4thecure: When you register, take a photo of yourself (In pink? With a sign? Be Creative!) and post to Instagram with the hashtag #gfs4thecure. NOTE: Students under 13 must have a parent or other adult in the photo. GFS teachers cannot pose with students for these photos.

Run with Roberts! For the second year in a row, Kim Roberts, Head of School, avid runner and daughter of a breast cancer survivor, will lead Team GFS during the family 5K Fun Run. If you plan to "Run with Roberts," please email Sarah Achenbach, Director of Communications, email@example.com with your name and names of any family members who are running as well.
What's happening on Race Day?
