The Fund for Garrison Forest
THANK YOU TO THE MANY ALUMNAE, PARENTS, FACULTY AND FRIENDS WHO HELPED RAISE $1,315,702 FOR THE 16-17 SCHOOL YEAR, SURPASSING OUR GOAL!
Behind every Garrison Forest student stand the many alumnae, parents, grandparents and friends who each year give to The Fund to Garrison Forest, the school’s annual giving program.
Tuition has never covered the full cost of a GFS education. Each year The Fund makes up approximately 6% of the operating budget, covering expenses like financial aid, teacher salaries and benefits and classroom and athletic equipment. Every dollar raised directly benefits our students and their dedicated teachers.
Giving to The Fund also demonstrates that GFS as a community stands together in support of the students, the teachers and the school. Thank you for supporting Garrison Forest, this year and every year!

Garrison Forest would not the institution it is today without the spirit and dedication of generations of alumnae, who continually support their school in so many ways. Every year, the largest portion of dollars raised for The Fund and the largest number of gifts come from alumnae!
Fund dollars go directly to students and teachers, but every alumna gift, no matter the size, also counts towards our alumnae participation percentage. Alumnae participation in annual giving is an important benchmark that can be touted by our Admission office and helps the school obtain grants and funding for special programs (like WISE or the new Outdoor Classroom). We need a high alumnae participation rate to keep pace with our peer schools and demonstrate that GFS alumnae believe in their school and the unique educational experience it offers. Every gift makes a difference, and we are grateful for your support!
Whatever made your GFS experience special was somehow supported by The Fund. Tell us your GFS story through our "My Garrison Forest" project.
All parents, from preschool to seniors, are asked to participate in The Fund for Garrison Forest this year. Tuition does not fully cover the actual cost of educating our students and operating the school, and all independent schools depend on an annual giving program to help make up this difference. Every dollar of The Fund directly benefits your children and their teachers.
Furthermore, parent participation is a crucial benchmark for the dedication and spirit of a school community. A high level of parent support has a multiplying effect, inspiring others to give and helping generate additional funding for exciting programs and innovations.
Thank you for your support!
