Since 2005, more than 300 Garrison Forest students have had the opportunity to be a part of the GFS Women In Science and Engineering (WISE) program with Johns Hopkins University. The vision for GFS WISE--to create an innovative program emphasizing the importance of women in STEM fields and giving Garrison Forest students access to graduate-level facilities--has endured to encompass a wide breadth of disciplines and projects. Beyond working alongside Johns Hopkins mentors, students have had the opportunity to delve deeper into their interests, experience life on a college campus and develop a sense of confidence that carries them far beyond their time at the Forest. WISE alumnae have attended some of the country's most prestigious universities and gone on to work as engineers, medical professionals, environmentalists, researchers, professors and more. Their interests and expertise span a wide range of industries.

We are thrilled to spend the year celebrating the past, present and future of the WISE program at Garrison Forest!
