Financial Assistance at Garrison Forest

We believe every qualified student should have access to a Garrison Forest education. Our financial assistance program is designed to support families from a range of socioeconomic backgrounds. Awards are need-based, grant-funded (not loans), and help reduce the cost of tuition starting in Kindergarten.

Applying for Assistance with Clarity

GFS uses the Clarity Financial Assistance Application for all requesting assistance.

  • This application generally opens on October 1 each year.
  • The deadline for current GFS families to submit their completed application is NOVEMBER 1
  • The deadline for prospective families to submit their completed application is DECEMBER 15.

Financial Assistance Policies

  • Financial assistance applications are emailed to families who have expressed an interest in applying for assistance in late October and should be filed with Garrison Forest and Clarity no later than December 15. Families are encouraged to meet the deadline for submission, as submitting late applications will delay processing and possibly jeopardize any award for which a family may qualify.
  • Financial assistance is available in grades K-12 with priority to returning students whose applications are submitted by the appropriate deadline.
  • Families must apply for financial assistance every year. While receipt of an award for one year does not guarantee receipt of an award for every year, families can generally expect the same level of assistance each year, barring any major changes in their financial situation.
  • Tuition accounts for currently enrolled students must be in good standing with the Business Office to receive a financial award. All families are required to meet payment schedules under the terms of the enrollment agreement. (Note: Accepted sibling applicants of current students will not be awarded financial assistance or issued an enrollment agreement unless the current siblings account is up to date.)
  • Awards will not be considered unless complete financial information is received from both parents. In the case of parents separated, divorced, or never married, both parents are required to fully complete the financial assistance application. It is expected that both parents and appropriate stepparents contribute to the cost of the student’s tuition and fees regardless of legal agreements.
  • If a family has children over the age of six, it is expected that both parents will be employed. If one parent chooses not to work, a full-time income at minimum wage will be assumed for that parent for the purposes of awards calculation.
  • All information submitted is kept in the strictest confidence. In turn, we expect families to exercise discretion while in the process. A financial assistance decision is confidential between the school and family.
  • Families who qualify for financial assistance will receive additional funds toward the purchase of a laptop PC. This grant will only be offered during the year a student is required to purchase a laptop. Qualified families with students entering Garrison in the Eighth Grade will be able to lease their laptops. A grant will be offered when the student enters Ninth Grade if the family still qualifies for assistance.
  • In the event of a positive change in financial circumstances, families receiving assistance must notify the Financial Assistance Office for the purpose of recalculation. A release of funds from one family will enable another in the Garrison Forest community to be served.
