What is your favorite thing about your career?
Receiving proud moment texts and emails from the parents of my patients. There is nothing better than watching a child walk for the first time with a congenital difference or a child with clubfoot hit his first homerun.
 

If you could have lunch with one person from GFS, alive or dead, who would it be?
Who else but Butch Darrell! He taught me so much. He believed in me and made me believe that I could accomplish almost anything with hard work and a few “bruises,” the nickname he affectionately gave me.
 

If you had to describe yourself in five words, what would they be?
Persistent, passionate, energetic, funny (at least my kids confirmed this), compassionate.

L. Reid Boyce Nichols '89, M.D, FAOA, FAAOS, is a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon as well as an Associate Professor of pediatric orthopaedic surgery at Nemours Children’s Health. Dr. Nichols’ clinical interests include limb deformity and reconstruction, clubfoot, arthrogryposis and pediatric trauma. She serves as the director of the Clubfoot Clinic and co-director of the Arthrogryposis Clinic. She is married to David Nichols and has a daughter, Eliza (10), a son, Witt(8), and a new puppy, Piper.
