Community Life & Inclusion
Garrison Forest School’s Office of Community Life and Inclusion guides the entire school’s efforts to build and maintain a welcoming, inclusive environment for everyone on our campus.
Guided by our Core Values and Statement of Respect, we work together to ensure everyone on our campus—students, parents, faculty, and staff—are appreciated and accepted for who they are, as they are.
Responding to the Needs of Our Community
One of the key components of building an inclusive community is being responsive. All communities have evolving needs, and our focus is on continually assessing and addressing the specific needs of our students and faculty to build connection and understanding across differences.
Building a Student-Focused Culture
Programming and initiatives are not only often student-led; they are student-focused. Whether instructional or celebratory, cultural or identity-based events and programming bring us together and give our students opportunities to share their unique experiences and perspectives with the broader community.
Everyone Plays a Role
All of us have an important role in ensuring the Garrison Forest School community is an inclusive and welcoming space for all. This includes programming and learning opportunities for parents and consistent, ongoing professional development for faculty and staff, as well as meaningful engagement opportunities for our alumnae.
