Summer WORK
Summer Work
Summer Reading: All Upper School students are expected to complete the summer reading texts by the first day of classes. Summer reading will be assessed in all grades during the first week of school. AP English has summer assignments in addition to the required reading. If you have any questions, please reach out to your teacher or the department chair.
For Math Summer work, in an effort to maintain all of the knowledge and skills that students have acquired this school year, we have prepared a list of topics on IXL that we would like students to work on this summer. We ask that they spend 30 minutes or reach a SmartScore of 80 on each skill, whichever comes first. To access this practice, go to https://www.ixl.com/signin/garrisonforest and sign in. If a student is new to Garrison Forest School, or has forgotten their IXL login, please contact our department chair, Mr. Beam, at jamesbeam@gfs.org. Use the search bar at the top of the page and enter the shortcut code to find the skills in the appropriate PDF linked below.
All questions regarding Upper School summer reading and math packets may be directed to Courtney Gotlin, Upper School Administrative Assistant at courtneygotlin@gfs.org.
