First Grade shared all about their four-legged, furry friends in a presentation to their families and friends in Livingston Great Room. As part of their first research project, the girls learned about different dog breeds before creating the presentation that incorporated multiple subject areas. The students learned about citing sources, how to write a bibliography and how to word sentences as to not plagiarize their resource materials. The librarian and STEM teacher both helped the girls make their “dog houses,” which served as their presentations. They used graph paper to make a blueprint for the houses and created a tri-fold to display highlights about their dog. To add a twist to their final presentation, they wrote their reports in the voice of their dogs!
