Preschool Learns About Japan

The Five Day Threes class has been busy learning about the lifestyle and culture of Japan. The students are fortunate to be penpals with Otsuma Nakano Junior/Senior High School in Japan, which gives the Preschool students direct interaction with other students who live abroad. 7th Grade girls from Otsuma Nakano sent the Threes bilingual holiday cards, and the Threes sent back Valentine's Day cards.

The Threes read about Japan every week and have colored the Japanese flag, learned about Hanakotoba (the language of flowers) and made an Azalea flower, which represents patience. They also made a shape ninja and sent home a fun Origami project for students to complete with their parents.
