Substitute Teachers: Lower School

Garrison Forest School is seeking experienced educators to work as substitute teachers in our Lower School, grades K-5. Qualified candidates will be posted on our list of Lower School substitutes and hired on a per diem basis as needed. The Garrison Forest Lower School strives to balance the exhilaration of discovery and exploration with the security of trusting, respectful relationships. A successful candidate should enjoy and possess the ability to work with elementary age children who represent a broad range of abilities and learning styles. Candidates should also possess the ability to implement a teacher's lesson plan and work collaboratively with a grade level team of teachers.  


  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Prior elementary/lower school teaching experience is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills, effective oral and written communication skills
