GFS celebrated the holiday season and bid farewell to 2017 before winter break with concerts in the Upper and Lower Schools.
On Tuesday, December 19, Upper School dancers, singers and musicians performed in Garland Theater. With juniors Kalila Farrakhan and Johnae Williams as emcees, the concert began with a student string ensemble performance led by Ms. Wichert and joined by Ms. Maranto. Chamber Choir, led by Ms. Scott, then performed several winter-themed selections ranging from Text Me Merry Christmas to Frozen's Let it Go. The concert ended with a performance Blue Allegro (the Upper School dance ensemble) performing Winter Song, which they will also perform at the inaugural Independent Dance Network Festival on January 20, led by Ms. Malone Wolf.
