Vail Romeyn ’87, Producer, Helstrom (Hulu television series with Marvel Studios)

Early in her career, Vail was a production coordinator with WETA, D.C.’s public television and classical music station, as well as a freelance correspondent with National Public Radio and CBS News.  Vail later served as a production supervisor with ABC Studios, the Arts and Entertainment Network, Universal Pictures, NBC Universal and Starz Entertainment.  In addition, Vail has worked for Fox Quebec Productions and Fox U.S. Productions.  Her productions include Batman Begins (2005), State of Romance (2009) and the X-Men series – Days of Future Past (2014), Apocalypse (2016) and Dark Phoenix (2019).  Her 2012 film, Warren, made its world premiere at the Santa Barbara Film Festival.  Filming on Helstrom, shot in Vancouver and was released in October 2020. She is currently producing the Paper Girls series expected to be released in early 2022. It is a modern, girl-version of Stand By Me, with some time travel and a battle for the survival of civilization thrown in. On top of all this, Vail has done voice-over work.  She has served as an Advisory Board member for the Producers Guild of America (the trade association representing television producers, film producers and New Media producers in the United States) and is a former Executive Board member with Women in Film Chicago.  In December 2014, Vail was elected to the Chicago Coordinating Committee of the Directors Guild of America.  The organization coordinates guild activities in the Midwest.  Vail was Overall Reunion Chair in 2012 and spoke on the GFS POW! Women in Media panel in October 2015.
