After graduating from GFS in 1998, Kasia pursued a Mass Communications degree with a concentration in Public Relations at Towson University in Towson, MD. Kasia volunteered her time as a radio DJ at Towson's radio station WTMD 89.7. She worked as a staff member for Towson's newspaper The Towerlight and volunteered at Towson's student-run television station WMJF-TV. During this time, she also joined the Kingsville Volunteer Fire Department in Kingsville, MD. She received her certification as an Emergency Medical Technician and Firefighter with the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute. In 2002, she started employment with Baltimore County at the 911 Emergency Communications Center as a 911 Specialist and was promoted to Emergency Communications Assistant Supervisor. While at 911, she has had the opportunity to work with numerous professionals in public safety including the Hostage Negotiation Team and Incident Command leaders. In 2019, Kasia also had the honor to be a part of the GFS Alumnae Board.
