GFS SCHOOL NEWS

Jenny’s passion for horses began at age 5 when she started lessons and showing in the Baltimore County Horse Show Association. The hunter world did not present quite enough excitement for Jenny so she started taking polo lessons at Garrison Forest School for outside middle school students. She went on to attend GFS starting in 9th grade and played for Garrison Forest’s interscholastic team, winning the 2009 and 2011 Women’s Interscholastic National Championships under former Director of Polo Cindy Halle.

After graduating from Garrison Forest in 2011, Jenny went to Virginia Tech, a college that did not have a polo team. She decided to start one with the help of the United States Polo Association (USPA). She was able to get equipment, horses, built a small practice arena and got the club going. She coached all of the students that went through the program until she graduated in 2015. Jenny received the 2015 Intercollegiate Female Player of the Year award.

After graduation, Jenny began her career with the USPA, traveling and taking on internships. Since then Jenny has worked with the USPA in Wellington, Florida, managed tournaments, run youth and adult clinics, developed a Club Polo 101 Manual for the USPA and started a polo school at Seneca Polo Club in Poolesville, MD in the spring of 2016. Jenny received the Polo Development Individual Excellence Award in the fall of 2016 for her contribution to the sport of polo and extreme dedication to developing programs for the USPA.  Jenny returned to GFS as Director of Polo in 2017.
