IEA Team Makes Zone Finals

Garrison Forest hosted the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) Zone 3 Region 1 Final this past Saturday. Teams from around Maryland and Delaware worked hard all season to qualify for Regionals. GFS had 17 individual riders as well as both the Upper and Middle school teams make it to and compete in Region 1 Finals this year.

After a long day and many hard-fought ribbons earned, the GFS Upper School Team came in 1st place qualifying them to move on to the IEA Zone 3 Finals. GFS also had 6 riders win 1st or 2nd place ribbons in their classes to move on to compete in the individual classes at Zone 3 Finals. Community riders Rachel Tanio, Finnegan Jacobs, and Peyton Snider will compete along with GFS student riders Lauren Eisele ‘21 (Equestrian Institute participant), Cassandra Edgar ‘22 (Equestrian Institute participant) and Olivia Sorrentino ‘20.

The IEA Team chose this show as the “senior appreciation show” creating posters to celebrate and thank our senior riders for their leadership this season.

Zone 3 Finals will take place at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA March 29 through 31st.

Please join us in congratulating these riders on an outstanding accomplishment!
