Lexington Spring Welcome Results

GFS riders participated in the Lexington Spring Welcome this past weekend with outstanding results.

Garrison Forest School student Drew Mallahan ‘26 and her pony Shalimar competed in the Small Pony Hunters and earned a 2nd, two 1st place ribbons, and a 3rd over fences.  She was then 4th in the under saddle and 4th in the Pony Hunter Classic.  Their performance earned them reserve champion in the division which qualified them for USEF National Pony Finals.  They will compete in Lexington, Kentucky this August alongside the top riders and ponies in the country.  Drew and Shalimar also competed in the US/M&S Pony Medal and earned a 7th and in the WIHS Pony Equitation Classic and earned a 6th place ribbon.

Garrison Forest School student Alicia Gandsas ‘25 and her pony Westwood Oliver Twist made their debut in the Medium Pony Hunters this past weekend.  They won a 2nd, two 3rds, and a 1st over fences.  They then earned a 4th under saddle and a 5th in the Pony Hunter Classic.  They competed in the US/M&S Pony Medal and WIHS Pony Equitation Classic and earned a 6th and a 1st respectively.

Garrison Forest Community rider Rachel Tanio and her horse Messina won an over fences class in the Adult Amateur Hunters 18-35.

Garrison Forest School student and Equestrian Institute member Cassie Edgar ‘22 competed her horse Cabana VDL in the Children's Hunter 14&U and earned a 8th, 5th, and a 7th over fences.  She also earned a 7th in the under saddle.

Garrison Forest Community rider Magda Stewart competed Amanda Flint's VDL First Blue in the .90 M Jumpers and earned a 3rd.  They then competed in the 1.00 M Jumpers and earned a 2nd.  Lastly, they competed in the Low Child/Adult Jumpers and earned a 5th.
