We attended the Loudoun Benefit Horse Show on June 12-16. Here are our results:
Garrison Forest student Drew Mallahan rode her pony, Shalimar. At the beginning of the week Drew rode in the Loudoun Small/Medium Pony Hunter and won the class. They then competed in the Marshall & Sterling US Pony Medal earning a 3rd, and the Small Pony Hunter Division and earned a 4th, 1st, and 7th over fences and a 7th in the under saddle.
Garrison Forest student Alicia Gandsas rode her pony, Westwood Oliver Twist. They competed in the Medium Pony Hunters and earned an 8th over fences and a 4th under out of a very competitive group.
Garrison Forest community rider Nicola Higgins rode Joan Bergmann's Colston. They competed in the Children's Hunters 15-17 and earned a 5th over fences and a 6th under saddle. Nicola and Colston also competed in the Gittings Horsemanship earning a 3rd place ribbon.
Garrison Forest Equestrian Institute member and student Lauren Eisele competed her horse, Lamor VDL. They also went in the Children's Hunters 15-17 and earned a 7th over fences and a 3rd in the under saddle.
Garrison Forest student Cece Cooke rode her horse, Atchafalaya in the Children's Hunters 15-17, Gittings Horsemanship Medal, and Low Hunters. They had very good rounds with good company.
Garrison Forest student Georgia Kurland rode her pony, Buckaroo. They competed in the Small/Medium Children's Pony Hunters and earned a 2nd and 7th over fences and a 6th in the under saddle. Georgia and "Roo" ended up 11th in the Children's Pony Classic.
Garrison Forest community rider Finn Jacobs rode his horse, Allegro. They competed in the 2'6" USHJA Hunter first, earning a 6th over fences. Later in the week, they competed in the Pre-Children's Hunter. They had some competitive rounds in good company.
Garrison Forest student Jules Astrada competed her horse, Jefferson. They also competed in the 2'6" USHJA Hunter and the Pre-Children's Hunter. Jules and "Squire" won one of their over fences classes in the 2'6" USHJA and won their under saddle in the Pre-Children's.
Garrison Forest student Virginia Edwards made her debut on her horse, GPS In The Know. They competed in the 2'6" USHJA Hunter and Pre-Children's Hunters as well. In the 2'6" USHJA Hunter they won their under saddle. In the Pre-Children's Hunters, they were 5th and 2nd over fences, which earned them reserve champion for the division. Virginia and "Peter" ended up 8th in the Pre-Children's Classic.
Garrison Forest Equestrian Institute member and student Cassie Edgar rode Garrison Forest School's Desperado. They competed in the THIS Children's Medal earning a 4th, as well as the Gittings Horsemanship Medal and the .90M Jumpers.
Garrison Forest Equestrian Institute member and student Kathryn Obrecht competed her horse, HTS Kings Ransom in the Gittings Horsemanship and NCEA Medal. Kathryn and "Kato" earned 2nd and 8th respectively. They also had competitive rounds in the THIS Children's Medal and the MHSA Hunt Seat Medal. Later in the week Kathryn and Kato had a competitive round in the $5,000 W Gary Baker Jr/Amateur Derby.
Garrison Forest community rider Sydney Musgrove rode J&J Imperatone LLC's K.E.C. Bombay in the 1.00M Jumpers and ended of 15th out of a large crowd.
Garrison Forest community rider Dr. Magda Stewart rode Amanda Flint's Gustav 303 in the High Adult Amateur Jumpers. Magda and "Gus" had some good rides in a large division.
Garrison Forest student Ashley Denk made her debut on her horse, First Class. Ashley and "Panzer" competed in the 2'6" USHJA Hunters and had some competitive rides in a big division.
Garrison Forest community rider Carroll Kilty rode her new horse, Avonlea in the 2'6" USHJA Hunters and the Pre-Adult Hunters. Carroll and "Harry" had some great rounds.
