Maryland Horse and Pony Show

On September 12-13, the Garrison Forest equestrian team went to the Maryland Horse and Pony Show in Lexington, Va. Here are the results!

Drew Mallahan and Farnley Hi Tide

GFS student and Equestrian Institute member Drew Mallahan rode her pony, "Ty", in the Medium Pony Hunters.  They finished 4th and 1st over fences and 2nd in the under saddle in a very competitive division.  Drew's mother, Carroll Kilty, helped groom her pony which earned them Best Turned Out Pony.  They also competed in the USEF Pony Medal and finished 8th.

Quinn Hathaway and Portafina

GFS student Quinn Hathaway made her debut on her horse, "Cali," in the Non-Restricted Children's Hunter and the Pre-Children's Hunters.  Quinn and Cali were 1st, and 1st over fences and 6th under saddle, earning them Champion in the Non-Restricted Children's Hunter division.  In the Pre-Children's Hunter division they finished 8th, 2nd, 8th, and 8th over fences, and 7th in the under saddle.  Quinn and Cali finished 6th in the Pre-Children's Hunter Classic.

Grayson Finnerty and Fountain Luxius

GFS student Grayson Finnerty rode her horse, "Mac," in the Pre Child Adult Jumpers. They finished 5th, 8th, 3rd, and 3rd.  They also did a .80M Jumper class and finished 7th.

Magda Stewart and Caesar Z

GFS community rider Magda Stewart rode her horse, "Caesar," in the High Child Adult Jumpers.  They finished 9th.  They also competed in the 1.0M jumper class and finished 2nd.

Cassie Edgar and Freeman

GFS student and Equestrian Institute member Cassie Edgar and her horse, "Morgan," made their debut in the High Child/Adult Jumpers.  They finished 4th.

Kathryn Obrecht and HTS Kings Ransom

GFS student and Equestrian Institute member rode her horse, "Kato."  They made their debut in the 3'6" "bigeq" and finished 10th in the WIHS Equitation Hunter Phase.  They also competed in the MHSA Horse Medal, finishing 4th and the THIS Children's Medal, finishing 1st.
