On a gorgeous afternoon, the Class of 2023 said their final goodbyes to their last year of Middle School at the Middle School Closing in Garland Theater on Tuesday, June 4. Family, friends, Middle School faculty and students gathered in the theater to celebrate with the rising 9th Grade class.
As the program began, Head of School Chris Hughes provided encouraging words for students to cherish past memories but remain hopeful for their new chapter ahead in the Upper School. After a performance of the song, Fly Away by the Blue Belles, Head of Middle School Tung Trinh shared special memories of the highly anticipated annual Mystery Night along with five valuable lessons. Several 8th Grade students were presented with awards following Mr. Trinh's speech.

8th Grade Faculty Award -- Zheng Yurun
8th Grade Unsung Hero Award -- Nia Maya-Courtney Smith
8th Grade Spirit Award -- Ella Kokinis
Middle School President Ella Kokinis addressed her classmates and the audience before the Presentation of Certificates and warmly welcomed Morgan Qualls '24 as the next Middle School President. Mr. Trinh shared words about each girl in the class as she received her certificate. After the ceremony, students joined their guests for a Courtyard reception.
