Wreath-Laying and Valedictory Reception
The evening before Commencement, Head of School Chris Hughes and Farida Hughes hosted a Valedictory Reception at Lochinvar for Seniors and their parents. In addition to spending time together before their big day, the evening featured songs by the Ragged Robins and a special song from our faculty singers. Prior to that, the Seniors ventured to nearby St. Thomas Church to honor Mary Moncrieffe Livingston, the founding headmistress of Garrison Forest School. They gathered to hear more about this important piece of the school's history, sing the alma mater, hear from Alumnae Board President Dr. Monique Williams '03 and place ragged robins on Miss Livingston's grave.

Senior Sign-Off and Senior Story
One of the annual traditions for Seniors is telling the story of their class. They begin by running into Garland Theater in their decorated tunics and announcing enthusiastically where they will be attending college. Then, they share the story of the class, weaving together inside jokes and cherished memories as they come to the stage in the order they came to GFS.
