GFS SCHOOL NEWS

Today the Garrison Forest community came together, from our youngest preschool students to our seniors, faculty, and staff, for our annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. celebration. This year’s performances focused on the theme: "It Starts with Me.” From singing to dance, poetry to spoken word, we honored Dr. King’s life and legacy and reflected on how change begins from within.

Blue Beats, the Lower School drumline, kicked things off as students and faculty and staff made their way into the Searle Athletic Center and were closely followed by the Blue Gems, Ragged Robins, Blue Belles and Blue Allegro. Performances also included Kennedy M. ‘25 reading an original poem, Kadence E. '23 sharing a tribute to her grandmother and an address by Head of School Chris Hughes.
