We are so excited to welcome back all of our Grizzlies for the 2022-23 school year! In his message to the community last week, Head of School Chris Hughes said, "Each year, we name a theme to set the tone for the year; this year, we'll be returning to the Core Values that form the foundation of our school community: Be Authentic. Be Brave. Be Compassionate. Be Curious. Be Spirited. Throughout the year, we'll be joining in discussions and celebrations of what these values mean to each of us and how they bring us together."
To kick off the year, we have a fun and action-packed first week of school. Please mark your calendars for the following events:
- Monday, August 29: Orientation in all divisions. Please see your divisional Back to School page or emails from your Division Head for more details.
- Tuesday, August 30: First Day of School! And, in the afternoon, we will hold our second annual Forest Festival, a fun family celebration to open the school year. Parents are invited to join us right after school ends for music, snacks, games and mingling. Thank you to our Parent Association for putting together this fun event! We hope everyone will join us.
- Friday, September 2: All-School Light Blue/Dark Blue Sorting Day! Our entire community will come together to celebrate a favorite GFS tradition as new students are sorted into their Spirit Color teams and we all show what it means to Be Spirited.
