GFS SCHOOL NEWS

For three Fridays in January and February, the Middle School paused their regularly scheduled programming for their annual Minimester session! Students had the opportunity to engage with their peers and faculty outside of the traditional classroom setting--and oftentimes, outside!--to explore a new activity or passion. From oil painting, ice hockey, paleontology, polo, to sketching and storytelling, students tapped into their natural curiosity and engaged in activities that extended beyond the classroom.

Known as a faculty and student favorite in the Middle School, Minimester gives faculty an opportunity to learn more about their students’ interests and abilities. "By learning more about the students, we can continue to build meaningful connections with our girls, which help us engage them in the classroom. Above all else, Minimester adds joy, fun and exploration into our program, making the Middle School a magical place to be," says Lauren Anderson, Middle School Dean of Students.
