Minimester Wrap Up

This week, the Middle School paused their regularly scheduled programming for their annual Minimester session! Students had the opportunity to engage with their peers and faculty outside of the traditional classroom setting--and oftentimes, outside!--to explore a new activity or passion. From hiking, jewelry making, forensics, polo, to baking and movie making, students tapped into their natural curiosity and engaged in activities that extended beyond the classroom.

Known as a faculty and student favorite in the Middle School, Minimester gives faculty an opportunity to learn more about their students’ interests and abilities.

"Minimester is one of my favorite Middle School traditions because it provides students with an opportunity to take a break from regular classes at the mid-year point of the school year and discover new passions, which is what Middle School is all about! This year I was able to work alongside Mrs. Leary with a group of 13 students in our Go For the Gold Minimester. Some highlights included an off-campus ice skating trip, decorating the Middle School lobby together and meeting over Zoom with Sarah Murray, an ice hockey player and the coach of the unified Korean women's hockey team at the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics, who also happens to be Ms. Holton's former hockey teammate and best childhood friend!" said Head of Middle School Shannon Schmidt.
