GFS SCHOOL NEWS

GFS Equestrian traveled to the Tryon International Equestrian Center for weeks 5 and 6 of their Summer Show Series. Our riders had a great time with many successful trips with each horse and rider combination. Here are some highlights of their results.

 

Tryon Summer Week 5

GFS recent graduate and Equestrian Institute member Virginia E. ‘22 and H&M Uit De Melle won an over fences round in the Modified Children’s and some ribbons in the Children’s Hunters.

GFS student and Equestrian Institute member Grayson F. ‘23 and Auspicious were third in the .90m speed class and had great trips in their other classes as well.

GFS student and Equestrian Institute member Caroline D. ‘23 and Joe May 12 were fifth in the .90m speed round and laid down several other successful rounds.

GFS student and Equestrian Institute member Maddie M. ‘24 and Caracas had great rounds in the THIS and NHS Medal and the Low Child jumper.

GFS student Kaitlyn B. ‘25 and Calau won top honors in a .80 jumper class and a .90 jumper class and were second and seventh in the other .90m classes.

GFS student and Equestrian Institute member Drew M. ‘26 and Wingman were champion in the Low Children’s Hunter.

GFS student Aspen C. ‘30 and Cooperstown were reserve champion in the Foothills Child/Adult Hunter.

Community member Finn J. and Knee Deep were second in a Modified Children’s class, seventh in an over fences in the Children’s Hunter and ninth in the Children’s Classic.

Community member Magda S. and Hupen’s Casanova finished a successful weekend with a tenth place finish in the Low Adult Classic.

Community member Sophia B. and Reconnaissance won first, second and sixth in the Low Children’s Hunter.

 
Tryon Summer Week 6


Virginia E. ‘22 and H&M Uit De Melle put in great rounds in the Children’s Hunter division and earned fourth place honors in an over fences class.

Equestrian Institute member Grayson F. ‘23 and Auspicious earned a blue ribbon in a .90m class and placed seventh in the .90 Non-Pro Jumper jump off class.

Equestrian Institute member Caroline D. ‘23 and Joe May 12 laid down successful trips in the .90 Non-Pro Jumpers.

Equestrian Institute member Maddie M. ‘24 and Caracas earned a blue ribbon in the .90m jumpers, second in the .90m Non-Pro Jumper speed class, and seventh in the Non-Pro Jumper jump off class.

Kaitlyn B. ‘25 and Calau started their week by earning a blue ribbon in a .90 jumper class and went on to have wonderful rounds in the .90 Non-Pro Jumper Division all weekend.

Equestrian Institute member Drew M. ‘26 and Wingman had great rounds in a huge Low Children’s Hunter division and finished in the ribbons in 4 of the 6 classes. Drew also catch rode Orchard Hills Snapchat in the Medium Pony Hunter division.

Aspen C. ‘30 and Cooperstown laid down some wonderful rounds in the Foothills Child/Adult Hunter and received fifth place honors in the under saddle.

Alicia G. and Stakkadom earned fourth place honors in the 12-14 2’9 Equitation and placed fourth in the .90 Non-Pro Jumper speed class.

Finn J. and Knee Deep showed in the Children’s Hunter division and had some great rounds to earn a variety of ribbons.

Magda S. and Hupen’s Casanova had a great showing in the Low Adult Amateur Jumper division.

Sophia B. and Reconnaissance showed in a huge Low Children’s Hunter division and put down great efforts in all her classes! She placed sixth and seventh in two over fences classes.

We are so proud of all of our wonderful horses and riders for a great two weeks showing at this facility! Thank you to all of our parents, staff and hard-working riders and horses who make trips like this possible!
