GFS SCHOOL NEWS

Here are some of the highlights from the Swan Lake Kickoff Classic last weekend: 

GFS student and Equestrian Institute member Drew M. ‘26 rode her horse to great ribbons in the Children's Hunters and in the Non Restricted Child/Adult Hunters. She finished in the top 3 in almost every class she competed in last weekend, including a win in the Gittings Horsemanship Medal.

Community member Riley Kletz rode her horse Chepetto in the Pre Adult Hunters and Schooling Hunters. She earned several ribbons in her classes.

GFS recent graduate and Equestrian Institute member Virginia Edwards ‘22 rode her horse H&M Uit De Melle in the Children's Hunters and Non Restricted Child/Adult Hunters. Virginia won both of her jumping classes in the Non Restricted Child/Adult division earning champion.

GFS student Aspen C. ‘30 rode her horse Cooperstown in the Short Stirrup Hunters. They had great rides, winning two of their classes and taking home reserve champion.

Community member Alicia Gandsas rode her horse Stakkadom in various equitation classes. They earned top 3 placings in the MHSA Hunt Seat Medal and the NHS Medal.

GFS student and Equestrian Institute member Madeline M. ‘24 rode her horse Caracas in various equitation classes as well. They had a top 3 finish in the NHS Medal, the USHJA Jumping Seat Medal and the Gittings Horsemanship Medal.

Community member Magda Stewart rode her horse Hupen's Casanova in the Low Adult Jumpers. They had great rides including a 9th place finish and a 12th place finish in the Classic.

GFS student and Equestrian Institute member Grayson F. ‘23 rode her horse Auspicious in the .90M jumpers. Grayson had great rounds and won several ribbons, including a 2nd place and a top 10 finish in the stakes class.

Along with Grayson, GFS student and Equestrian Institute member Caroline D. ‘23 rode her horse JoeMay 12 in the .90M as well. Caroline and JoeMay earned great ribbons, including a top 5 finish in the stakes class.

Community member Alex Hershfield rode her horse Veneto Fontaine in the .90M jumpers as well to round out the group. They were very successful, winning a class and finishing 2nd in the stakes class, earning reserve champion in the division.

GFS student Kaitlyn B. ‘25 rode Calau in her jumper debut in the .80M jumpers. Kaitlyn had a successful first outing earning a ribbon in every class and most notably a 2nd place in the stakes class.
