Good Morning, Chinese! is a new class this year in Lower School. Led by Chinese teacher Liu Laoshi, the students learn about Chinese language, arts and traditions. Three Upper School boarding students from China join the class as their schedule permits to assist Ms. Liu and provide the Lower School students with their own insight into Chinese culture and language. The Lower School girls love working with the older students and the real-world connection that the boarding students provide.
In the above lesson, the students learned how to write their Chinese names. They practiced the characters on grid paper, then stitched their names on cloth to create beautiful stitchery projects.
Garrison Forest offers a boarding program for girls in Grades 8-12, providing a true global education for both our day and boarding students. Our students in all divisions learn alongside students from all over the world. Learn more about our boarding program.
