GFS SCHOOL NEWS

For the 13th year in a row, the Lower School gathered in the Recital Hall after the Halloween Parade to join in the annual tradition of making lunches for Our Daily Bread, a large soup kitchen in Baltimore City. Led by the 2nd Grade, the annual service project provides an opportunity for the girls to step back from a season of “treats” to participate in the spirit of giving.

This year, the girls prepared 400 lunches for Our Daily Bread which included peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, snacks and more. Parents generously donated food and time in helping prepare the lunches. From making sandwiches to packing bags to stuffing boxes, each Grade and each girl had a role in making the project a success.

A very special thank you to all of the donors and the dedicated parent volunteers. Thank you, 2nd Grade, and the Lower School for working toward making a difference.
