GFS SCHOOL NEWS

The tradition is back! On Saturday, April 28, GFS revived a fun and healthy Garrison Forest tradition with Jump Rope for Heart.

Jump Rope for Heart 2018 kicked off with representatives from the American Heart Association making presentations in the Lower, Middle and Upper School to promote the event and heart-healthy living.  Members of Service League and the Captains' Council then worked together on advertising and education.  Service League raised money to support the event through concessions sales at last week’s spring dance concert.

Each Jump Rope for Heart registrant received a very sharp "Jumpin' Grizzly" t-shirt designed by art teacher Hannah Levasseur and junior Soleil Gohoure.  The Upper School softball team was well-represented among the group of spirited Upper Schoolers who came out to assist with the event which included jump roping, hoops shooting, ball bouncing, and some heart-healthy hockey. As it has been in years past, the event was a full and fun community effort!

Many thanks to everyone who came out to ACTIVELY support a great cause. Keep up those heart-healthy habits!
